Description
Student living spaces often evoke images of cramped quarters, dull colors, and paper-thin walls that leak noise and broadcast conversations. Spalding Design Group, together with 8th Street Developers, chose to create an alternative student environment option. The result is the Lofts on 8th Townhome community in Tempe, Arizona, minutes from Arizona State University, and chock full of positive, productive amenities.

Our architectural design team created a thoughtfully laid out community of four buildings, housing seven units apiece, for a total of 28 learning-inspired living spaces. An individual 1867 square foot two story townhouse is complimented by a 2-car attached garage, driveway space for an additional 2 cars, and a private rooftop deck. Each of the four bedrooms includes a generous closet and private bathroom. A guest bath on the main floor, and a sizable laundry room with stackable washer and dryer, are additionally appealing.

A centralized outdoor gathering space with a community pool, bike racks, and covered mail kiosk make it easy to recharge and refresh.

Student safety was a key factor in the design process. As a result, access is limited to a gated entry, allowing residents to gain door and garage entry through keypads and door operators.

Our marketing and branding division was instrumental in creating an extensive promotional material package for the Lofts on 8th project. The team provided 2D Floor Plans, Rendered 3D Floor Plans, and “Fishbowl” Perspectives designed to present a 360-degree pivotal view of each room. Additionally, we created a variety of Exterior and Interior Rendered Still Images for the website, Instagram shots, banners, brochures, and other marketing pieces. The icing on the cake was the video animation of exterior and interior features, and site overview.
