Design and architecture are two crucial components of a successful micro lifestyle. These key elements create spaces that take into consideration the physical and psychological needs of a pocket-sized way of life. With typically only 200-400 square feet to engineer, designers must utilize creative and unique space-saving solutions to maximize efficiency without sacrificing function. Units often have high ceilings and oversized windows to create an airy illusion of space, and floor plans are commonly open-concept with modular furniture used to create borders that define specific “rooms”.

With an exterior facade reminiscent of the Uniroyal campus, Front Street apartments will offer two-bedroom, studio+ and ORI studio units. ORI, headquartered in Boston, is rethinking the definition of furniture by utilizing robotic pieces to transform small spaces with the press of a button or a voice command. ORI’s innovative modular furniture can reshape a studio footprint from a single room into a workspace, walk-in closet, bedroom, living area, and several other configurations.
